LaKota Oaks Is More Than A New Name for Norwalk's Dolce Conference Center

The former Dolce Norwalk property, located on 66 bucolic acres in West Norwalk with 120 guest rooms, outdoor terraces, wide green lawns, scenic ponds and a 10,500-square-foot event space, somehow hasn’t always made it on the personal and business events and celebrations radar.

Spread the word! LaKota Oaks, formerly Dolce Norwalk, hopes to no longer be Fairfield County's best-kept secret when it comes to personal and professional celebrations and gatherings.

That’s about to change.

“We are thrilled to take on the management of this great property and we are extremely pleased to retain all the current members of the service team who will continue to take great care of our clients and guests,” said Sam D. Haigh, President & CEO of LaKota Hotels & Resorts.

Norwalk-based LaKota Hotels and Resorts (itself a partnership between Haigh, former President of Benchmark Hospitality, and Andy and Danny Dolce, former Chairman and former Vice President of Global Sales of Dolce Hotels and Resorts) has partnered with Queens Plaza West LLC of Dix Hills, N.Y. to rebrand Dolce as LaKota Oaks.

LaKota specializes in turning around under-performing hotels and resorts. Virginia’s National Conference Center is but one successful example of what they can accomplish.

And it’s no coincidence that the name evokes thoughts of scenic inns in the West. LaKota Oaks hopes to attract wellness retreats and prides itself on being environmentally friendly.

Near term plans include renovations to refresh the 240-seat ballroom, amenity areas, conference areas and guest rooms to pave the way for the LaKota team to dramatically expand the business and solidify the position of LaKota Oaks as Connecticut’s premiere place for weddings, social events and executive conferences.

LaKota Oaks will remain open during its final renovations, which are expected to begin in August and be completed by March 2019 – and include revamping the guest rooms.

“Despite all of this, it’s surprising how many people are not aware of this property as the most incredible choice for special events and off-site conferences,” said Haigh. “You can believe we are looking forward to spreading the word!”
